  • Auto-renew Subscription means a membership that renews automatically unless cancelled.
  • Intellectual Property means all intellectual property rights owned by us (or our licensors) in Our Website and Materials.

2. Basis of Contract

  • When you purchase from us, you are purchasing a licence to access and use Materials in accordance with these Terms.
  • Prices, plan details, and what is included in each membership are displayed on Our Website at the time of purchase.
  • The contract between us is formed when (a) we confirm your purchase, or (b) you access/download Materials, whichever happens first.
  • We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on Our Website applies at the time you purchase or renew.

3. Memberships, Billing, and Renewals

3.1 Membership types

  • Pay-as-you-go (manual renewal): fixed-term access (e.g. 6 or 12 months) that does not renew automatically.
  • Auto-renew Subscriptions: renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

3.2 Auto-renew sign-up fee

Auto-renew subscriptions may include a one-time sign-up fee applied at the start of a new auto-renew subscription. This sign-up fee applies to all new auto-renew subscriptions, including customers switching from a pay-as-you-go membership.

3.3 Cancelling an auto-renew subscription

  • You can cancel your auto-renew subscription from your account area (where available) to stop future renewals.
  • Cancellation stops the next renewal charge; it does not remove access immediately. You retain access until the end of the current paid period.

3.4 Coupon codes and promotions

Promotional codes may be limited to specific plans, billing types, customer groups, and time periods. Codes cannot be applied retroactively after purchase. We may restrict promotions to one use per customer/account.

Introductory codes (where available):

  • INTRO20 – introductory discount for 12-month auto-renew subscriptions
  • INTRO15 – introductory discount for 6-month auto-renew subscriptions

These introductory codes are intended for new auto-renew subscriptions and are limited to one use per customer/account.

4. Digital Access, Delivery, and Refunds

TEFL Lessons provides digital products with immediate access. Premium access is activated immediately after purchase.

4.1 EU consumer cancellation rights (digital content)

Where EU consumer cancellation rights apply, you may lose the right to cancel once you request or accept immediate supply of digital content and acknowledge that you will lose your cancellation right.

4.2 No refunds once access is used

Due to the digital nature of our Materials and immediate access, we do not offer refunds once Premium access has been activated or any Premium Materials have been downloaded or used, except where required by applicable law.

Refunds are not available for:

  • change of mind after purchase
  • lack of use after access is granted
  • issues caused by browser settings, password managers, device-related issues, or extensions
  • purchases made using an incorrect email address
  • purchases made through unauthorised sellers

  • Uploading Materials to shared drives, staff portals, or LMS platforms accessible by multiple teachers (unless expressly permitted in a separate written agreement).
  • Redistributing Materials in bulk, reselling, republishing, or creating derivative works/products from our Materials.
  • Removing watermarks, identification marks, or embedded reference information.
  • Using our branding, logo, or trademarks as your own.

Misuse may result in suspension or termination of your account without refund, in line with these Terms.

6. Teacher Copy contents and answer keys

Where provided, the Answer Key is included in the Teacher Copy and can be found at the end of the Teacher Copy. Please make sure you download both files where available:

  • Student Copy – for use with learners
  • Teacher Copy – includes teacher notes, answer keys, and pronunciation guidance (British and American English where applicable)

7. Editing / file formats and fillable fields

Our Materials are provided in PDF format (and other digital formats such as audio where applicable) and are intended to be used as supplied. Editable Word versions are not available, and Materials are not designed to be converted into other formats.

Some PDFs include fillable fields so learners can type answers on-screen. Fillable fields may not display when printed and are not included in all resources.

8. Intellectual Property

All Materials, Content, branding, logos, and trademarks on Our Website are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted in these Terms, you may not copy, modify, publish, transmit, sell, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, display, or otherwise exploit our Intellectual Property.

9. Account security and acceptable use

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details.
  • You must not share login credentials with any third party.
  • We may use automated security tools to protect against suspicious activity. Access may be temporarily restricted where our systems detect unusual patterns.
  • Please notify us of any suspected unauthorised use of your account.

10. Defects and corrections

If you believe a Material contains an error, please contact us and include the resource name, page/activity, and details of the issue (a screenshot helps). If we confirm a genuine error, we will correct the file and update the downloadable version.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

We provide Our Website and Materials in good faith. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that Our Website will be free from errors at all times. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to a purchase is limited to the amount paid by you for the relevant membership or product in the preceding 12 months. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud or for matters that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Third-party services (reviews)

To help us collect verified customer reviews, we may use a third-party reviews service (e.g. CusRev). For the purpose of sending a review invitation, we may share your name, email address, and order details with the provider. This is used only to generate a verified review request and not for marketing by the provider.

13. Dispute resolution and governing law

If you have a complaint, please contact us first at support@tefllessons.com. These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and any disputes shall be litigated in Ireland, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
