Future Tenses Speaking Activities – Overview
This future forms speaking worksheet provides structured revision of will, be going to, the present continuous and the present simple for future meaning, as well as future time clauses and the first conditional.
1. Plans and predictions
Students discuss their future plans and intentions using be going to, then make predictions based on visual evidence. They also answer questions about the future using will.
2. Requests, offers and suggestions
In pairs, students practise making requests, responding to everyday situations with offers and making suggestions using shall.
3. Decisions and promises
Students make spontaneous decisions in everyday scenarios and practise making promises through imaginative role plays.
4. Future facts and arrangements
Students answer questions about future events, discuss personal arrangements using the present continuous and practise the present simple for timetabled events.
5. Future time clauses and the first conditional
Students complete sentence prompts about their plans and possible future situations, then ask follow-up questions to extend the conversation.
