This FREE Talking about Reading ESL activity focuses on engaging discussion questions that help students talk about reading habits, preferences, and experiences. Talking About Reading ESL Lesson Overview

1. Discussion Questions

Students work in pairs or small groups to ask and answer questions about reading habits, preferences, and experiences, building confidence and fluency.

2. Phrasal Verbs Introduction

Students match phrasal verbs with read  and other reading-related phrasal verbs to their definitions, developing understanding of meaning and usage.

3. Controlled Practice

Students complete sentences using the correct phrasal verbs in context to reinforce their understanding.

4. Speaking Practice

Students practise using the phrasal verbs in conversation, applying new language in a communicative context.

Skills Developed

Speaking fluency, expressing opinions, vocabulary development, and understanding phrasal verbs in context.

Lesson Objectives

Students will be able to discuss reading habits and preferences, understand and use reading-related phrasal verbs, and participate in structured speaking activities.

This is a fantastic website and the worksheets scaffold the teaching points very well. But there are two things that I find to be a small irritant. When I put in a specific search e.g. second conditional - it includes worksheets not related to that search. The other thing is that I am a paid subscriber but often a pop up box appears asking me to review the free resources. I have to keep closing the pop up box which is annoying.
