This Wintertime Idioms lesson focuses on expressions connected to winter and cold temperatures. Students read the idioms in context and try to determine their meaning before matching the idioms to their meanings. It then follows with a gap-fill exercise and some language focus. Finally, the students write their own mini-dialogues and ask and answer conversation questions which contain the idioms.
We have a teacher’s copy (including teacher’s notes, an answer key, and a pronunciation guide) and a student version which you can email to your class for online lessons.
