Would You Rather ESL Questions Overview
1. Review Would Rather
Teachers can briefly review the meaning and form of would rather + base verb. Students are also shown how to answer using the contracted form, such as I’d rather live in the countryside because it’s quieter.
2. Student A and Student B Pairwork
Students work in pairs and take turns asking their questions. They choose an option, explain their reasons and ask follow-up questions. Teachers can cut the page down the middle for pairwork or cut up the individual questions for use as speaking cards.
3. Feedback and Error Correction
Teachers monitor the discussions and note any language errors. After the activity, students identify and correct selected errors as a class.
