St Patrick’s Day Speaking Task
somdn_product_pageThis St Patrick’s Day speaking activity uses engaging St Patrick’s Day discussion questions to help students talk about Irish traditions and the topic of luck. Students take turns choosing a question to ask another student in their group and develop their answers through follow-up questions and discussion. St Patrick’s Day Discussion Questions Overview
1. Preparation
Before starting the activity, you may wish to pre-teach some key language such as traditions, pot of gold, stereotypical, a blessing in disguise, know of, be famous for, and bring good/bad luck.
2. Discussion Questions
Students work in pairs or small groups and take turns choosing a question to ask another student in their group. Encourage follow-up questions so each prompt develops into a short discussion.
3. Report Back
Students change partners and report something interesting they learned during their previous discussion.

This is a fantastic website and the worksheets scaffold the teaching points very well. But there are two things that I find to be a small irritant. When I put in a specific search e.g. second conditional - it includes worksheets not related to that search. The other thing is that I am a paid subscriber but often a pop up box appears asking me to review the free resources. I have to keep closing the pop up box which is annoying.
