Time: 45 mins – 1 hour + (depending on level).

This lesson provides practice for describing a room. Students brainstorm language related to describing rooms, including furniture vocabulary for the sitting room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom and prepositions of place. They then look at a picture of a sitting room for 30 seconds, try to memorise the details and then write ‘there was/were sentences describing what they have seen. Finally, they work in pairs to complete a describe, listen and draw activity.

We have a teacher’s copy (including teacher’s notes, a pronunciation guide and an answer key) and a student version which you can email to your class for online lessons.
