English Self Assessment – A2 to B1
1. Grammar & Vocabulary Progress
Students review key A2 grammar and vocabulary topics and rate how confident they feel using them. They can add notes about areas they want to revise or practise, helping them build a clear picture of their English progress.
2. Speaking, Listening, Writing & Reading Progress
Students use clear can-do statements to reflect on their progress in the four main language skills. This student self assessment helps them recognise their strengths and identify skills that need more practice.
3. How I Will Improve
Students choose practical ways to work on weaker areas, including reviewing previous work, practising speaking, listening and reading regularly, and improving their writing and spelling.
4. My New Level
For students moving from A2 to B1 English, this section focuses on continuing to revise A2 topics while keeping up with new B1 grammar and vocabulary. A final notes section gives students space to record anything else they want to work on next.
Skills Developed
Self-assessment, learner reflection, goal setting, independent learning and study skills.
Lesson Objectives
By the end of the activity, students will have reviewed their progress across key A2 language areas, identified strengths and areas for further practice, and chosen practical ways to support their progress towards B1.
