Travel Topics for ESL Students
1. Speaking Prompts
Students take turns choosing a card and speaking for one minute. Prompts include places they have visited, where they would like to go next, things they always bring when travelling, and activities they enjoy while away.
2. ESL Questions About Travel
The cards work as ESL questions about travel, encouraging students to speak at length, organise their ideas, and use a wide range of vocabulary. Students answer travel speaking questions about accommodation, transport, travelling on a budget, volunteering or working abroad, and times when something went wrong.
3. Fluency Practice
Although this is not a traditional conversation worksheet, the prompts can also be used as travel conversation topics for extended speaking practice. Students talk about experiences, express opinions, compare ideas, and build confidence speaking for one minute without stopping.
